My iPad is not charging, what do I do?

If you have confirmed that the cable and charger are good, by testing them on a different iPad or iPhone and also trying a different power outlet, then proceed with the following steps:
 

1.  Press and hold the Power button and the Home button at the same time.
2.  Wait for the device to reboot and then release the buttons once the Apple logo appears.
